Senator Lazich’s Statement Applauding State Senate’s approval of $100 million Property Tax Relief

MADISON- Senator Mary Lazich released the following statement applauding the Wisconsin State Senate’s approval of $100 million in property tax relief during a Special Session.

“This is Government functioning at its best, to benefit taxpayers” said Senator Lazich. “Today we affirm commitment to Wisconsin’s hard working taxpayers.  Over the last two years we made tough decisions and enacted bold reforms to provide Wisconsinites with fiscal security.  Today our reforms and decisions continue to benefit hardworking taxpayers, families, and businesses.”

The $100 million property tax relief will be delivered through the state’s equalization aid formula.  Property tax relief will be $40 million this year, and an additional $60 million next year.  Since the legislature is fast tracking the legislation, taxpayers will see relief on this year’s property tax bill.
