Marshall Auto Body Receives 2014 Wisconsin Sustainable Process of the Year Award
Marshall Auto Body in Waukesha, WI, has received the 2014 Wisconsin Sustainable Process of the Year award from the Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council. The award is one of many Earth Day Business Sustainability Awards, which are designed to honor businesses for their leadership in developing innovative products, processes and business models while demonstrating that economic performance and environmental and social performance go hand-in-hand.
By developing a business model centered on customer value and eliminating or minimizing as much waste activity and material as possible, Marshall Auto Body says it has been able to become more efficient. These changes have resulted in less waste to recycle, lower energy consumption, lower material usage and the ability to get the bulk of electrical power from a large 72-kilowatt solar panel array.
The Earth Day Business Sustainability Awards coincide with Earth Day, which was founded in 1970 by Wisconsin Sen. Gaylord Nelson to raise visibility of what was happening to the planet and to organize support for protecting the environment.
