Waukesha CEO To Receive Don Richards Leadership Award

The Waukesha County Business Alliance has announced that Stuart Schroeder, CEO of The Schroeder Group, S.C. Attorneys at Law, will receive the 2013 Don Richards Leadership Award, to be presented at the Business Alliance’s 95th Annual Meeting on Friday, Sept. 13, at the Sheraton Hotel.

The Don Richards Leadership Award recognizes Schroeder’s outstanding leadership, vision, and accomplishments.

Schroeder founded The Schroeder Group, S.C. Attorneys at Law in 1998, built around three core values that continue to be the cornerstone of the business today: quality, value and service.

“Above all else, Stuart is a person that truly believes in giving back to the community,” said Suzanne Kelley, president of the Waukesha County Business Alliance. “He leads by example – his dedication to serving the community around him is a quality that rings true with everyone else at The Schroeder Group, as seen by the firm’s Community Connections Facebook page.”

Through Schroeder’s leadership, The Schroeder Group is committed to making its community a great place to live and work, through involvement with a number of local organizations including United Way of Waukesha County, Food Pantry of Waukesha County, WCTC Foundation, Elmbrook Humane Society, La Casa de Esperanza, Wisconsin Adopt-a-Highway Program, Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer, Inc., WCEDC and many others.

A United Way of Waukesha County planned giving participant since 2003, The Schroeder Group has been recognized three times with the United Way’s Albert F. Beck Award, recognizing the largest gift among participating law firms. Schroeder has served on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee for United Way of Waukesha County and is a 2009 recipient of the Bruce Gill Executive Volunteer of the Year award.

Schroeder and his firm have been recognized with many other awards – Top Business of the Year in Southeastern Wisconsin, three-time Future 50 award winner, Innovator of the Year and a national Community Service Award.

The Don Richards Award celebrates the life of the late Don Richards, who was publisher of The Business Journal and Chairman of the Board of the Waukesha Area Chamber of Commerce (now known as Waukesha County Business Alliance). The late Don Richards’ hands-on leadership, ethics and delight in achieving tangible results left a lasting impression on the Waukesha County business community. The Don Richards Leadership Award was created in his honor in 1993 to inspire and motivate business people to take community leadership roles in Waukesha County.
