Waukesha BID Could Hire Executive Director This Week

Meghan Sprager, director of development and communications at Waukesha non-profit agency, is being interviewed by BID Board of Directors on Wednesday

The Waukesha Business Improvement District Board of Directors could make its final selection for its executive director as early as Wednesday morning. Former Executive Director Karen Richards resigned from the position last fall.

The board is interviewing Meghan Sprager, the director of development and communications at La Casa de Esperanza, for the executive director position at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday at The Rotunda, 235 W. Broadway. The executive director search committee is recommending the board hire Sprager, said BID Board President Shawn Reilly.

Reilly, speaking for himself and not the search committee, said her connections in Waukesha County and her experience made her stand out as a strong candidate for the position. Sprager was one of four finalists selected by the committee.

“She has a lot of good ideas,” Reilly said. “She impressed me with her ability to build contacts for the BID.”

Reilly said he believes Sprager will work well with the BID Board of Directors and provide visibility for the BID.

Overall, all the final candidates were “extremely well qualified” in the selection process, Reilly said.

“All of them would have made good executive directors,” he said.
