Walmart Market Expected to Open By the End of the Year

A groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the new store will take place Thursday.

Construction is beginning on a new Walmart Neighborhood Market that is expected to open at the end of the year in the Town of Waukesha on Highway 164, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

A groundbreaking ceremony will take place Thursday at 10 a.m.

The old building, which housed Walmart before Walmart moved to West Avenue in the City of Waukesha, was demolished last month.

The 41,000-square-foot store is a smaller-scale grocery stores. There are about 200 similar stores throughout the country.

Plans for the Walmart Neighborhood Market include additional commercial businesses in out lots that may be developed in the future, according to Town of Waukesha documents.

The project is expected to develop 65 to 100 jobs at the Walmart Neighbrhood Market.
