Scrima's Pizza Opening Soon in Woodman's Food Market

Popular pizza joint is expanding to the east side of Waukesha this summer.

When Joe Scrima opened Scrima’s Pizza in June, long-time residents who remembered the original Scrima’s Pizza – which closed in the mid-1990s – asked him when he’d open on the east side of Waukesha.

The pizza place is located in Dave’s Mobile at Silvernail Road and Grandview Boulevard. But for the second location, Scrima said he looked at several locations before finding the perfect place.

Scrima’s Pizza will be opening a location in Woodman’s Food Market when it opens this summer. While there will be ovens for a limited amount of baking, the primary pizza sales will be take-and-bake pies.

“We are excited about getting in there,” Scrima said. “Hopefully, it will go (well). The people on the east side of town were saying, ‘Oh, Joe, get over here’ because they don’t like to drive way over here. Waukesha is bigger than it was (in the 1990s).”

Scrima’s hoping his fresh ingredients will set the “all-natural, fresh, watch it while it is made” pizzas apart from other take-and-bake pizzas located in other grocery stores. He also plans to start offering gluten-free pizzas at the Woodman’s location.

“My competition is all these supermarkets that make them in Illinois and send them up,” Scrima said. “These will be fresh.”
