Photos: People’s Park Is Now Open

Nearly a year after a fire destroyed the popular eatery, it’s back in a big way.

The staff at were extra cheerful on Monday as they greeted people at the door. After all, the popular downtown Waukesha bar and restaurant hasn’t had a single customer in 10 months since a fire damaged the building.

The fire damage is gone and the restaurant re-opened Monday with an expanded dining room on the second floor.

It was so nice seeing activity once again at Peoples Park last night! A big thank you to the Taylor family for your commitment to the Downtown and not only reopening, but expanding! This speaks volumes and the patrons you draw will also benefit other merchants in the area.

Point of Interest: I have a business across the street, The Steaming Cup. Customers worried that the reopening would hurt us. I need to report that business increased for us when they opened. They are great and sensitive business neighbors. I am proud to be friends with People's Park. Many congrats on your current and future successes!
