Hebron House of Hospitality to Receive $25K Donation from GE Healthcare

Donation creates relationship with Waukesha homeless shelter in volunteer and fundraising, news release states.

A Waukesha homeless shelter that has been cramped for space the last few years will receive extra help after GE Healthcare donates $25,000 on Monday.

Hebron House of Hospitality, which operates several shelters, , will be able to provide more shelter in 2011 and renovate a former school into a service center, according to a news release.

““We’re so excited to receive this unexpected gift from GE Healthcare,” Hebron House of Hospitality Executive Director Bernie Juno said in a news release. “These funds will mean the difference to so many people in our community who don’t have adequate housing.

“The challenges are great, but with this gift we will be more able to meet the increasing demands of our residents. As we look to the future, the relationship we have formed with GE will help us meet current operating needs and to finance our building plans.”

The shelters operated by Hebron House serve about 115 people each day, according to the release.

Hebron House also is looking at building an eight-unit apartment building at 620 Summit Ave. for people with physical, mental or other disabilities.

That’s why we’ve joined with Hebron House to combat homelessness in our community.”
