Several Waukesha Businesses On Top Business List

What does it take to run a business these days? The BizTimes and Waukesha County Business Alliance named several Waukesha businesses to their top 10 list.

Four Waukesha-based business were listed on the BizTimes and the Waukesha County Business Alliance top 10 business list, according to a story on the BizTimes.

Aries, Metal-Era, Stier Construction, and Walter USA received the award and Sussex-based Power Test topped the list. Judges chose the businesses based on how well they performed financially, their customer service, relationship with employees and community involvement.

Power Test designs and makes dynamometers, heavy equipment testing systems, related data acquisition, control systems and custom engineered testing machines. John Petelinsek, started the company in the 1970s and John's son, Alan Petelinsek, has been the president of the company since 1999.

According to the BizTimes:
"The support network here is essential to a manufacturing business," Petelinsek said. "We have access to industrial steel, engineers, machinists, software designers, transportation, the airport hub and the political structure in place to support manufacturing. It's where we want to be."
