Brewing Company to Become a ‘Fixture’ in Downtown

Property owners plan to brew their own beer.

Steve Fix is no stranger to the bar business.

After all, he ran the Main Stage bar in Waukesha a few years back. Eventually he leased the building he owns at 716 Clinton St. to two bars – Club Kaboom and Beer Goggles.

And now he’s returning as a business owner in downtown Waukesha.

“When we had it, it was a music venue,” Fix said. “We did it for four years, but we were looking for a change.”

Fix hopes the Fixture Brewing Company will open Thanksgiving week. Fix has been brewing on a personal level for four years. But when his bar opens later this year, he plans to offer two of his special brews on tap. And by New Year’s, the bar could have four to six brews ready to go.

“We are going to be making our own brews, so we are going to be serving our own beers,” Fix said.

Fixture Brewing Company will eventually offering food – maybe by spring – as a kitchen is being added to the bar.

The Fix family first purchased the building in 2003. And they’ve seen the downtown area change dramatically through the years.

“I see the potential of Waukesha with the way things have improved in downtown Waukesha,” Fix said.
