UPDATE: Multiple Shots Fired Outside Apartments; No Injuries Reported

Suspects still at large in shootings, which occurred late Tuesday near Big Bend Road and Sunset Drive.

Bullet casings, gun cartridges and bullet holes were found near a Big Bend Road apartment complex after multiple shots were fired in the area late Tuesday, Waukesha police said.

No injuries were reported in the incident, which prompted a lockdown of the area  around the 1500 block of Big Bend Road, police said. The suspects are still at large as of Wednesday morning.

Dispatchers received numerous calls about shots being fired shortly near before midnight. Upon arriving on the scene, officers found multiple fired gun cartridges, police said. The area near Big Bend Road and Sunset Drive was locked down as Waukesha, Brookfield and New Berlin police, along with the county's K9 unit, conducted an extensive search for possible victims or suspects.

As of Wednesday morning, it does not appear that anyone has been injured, police said. Bullet casings and bullet holes were discovered at the scene, and that evidence is being processed by the department's Criminal Evidence and Forensic Unit. 

Witnesses told police that they saw subjects fleeing the scene in a white SUV and an older model four- door sedan. Anyone with information regarding this shooting incident is urged to contact Detective Dave Feyen at (262) 524-3784.
