NFL Supercontest, Week Ten

Packers fans become Texans fans this week. J.J. Watt will hopefully do his best Clay Matthews impression.

So, the "all home underdogs" bit didn't go as planned last weekend, but my embarrassment didn't compare to the brutal beating that Vegas took.  The public loves favorites, and they delivered a 10-4 record in week nine.  The NFL-loving public gets a premiere matchup this week (finally) when the Texans travel to Chicago for a Sunday night showdown.  Can the Bears' offensive line hold up against J.J. Watt and company?  These lines and picks are for entertainment purposes only.

(Home team in CAPS)

PATRIOTS (-12) over Bills

Ask yourself:  Is 12 points really enough?

BUCCANEERS (-3) over Chargers

The muscle hamster at home against Norv Turner's overrated crew?  Just three points?  Sign me up.

PANTHERS (+4) over Broncos

The Panthers have played competitively against elite teams so far, and I think this will be another instance in which they raise their game to match their competition. Cam Newton will be able to keep Peyton Manning off the field, and the Panthers will win outright.

VIKINGS (+3) over Lions

The Lions just haven't convinced me that they deserve points on the road against any semi-competent team.  And that's that.

Jets (+6) over SEAHAWKS

This is a pretty generous line for a Seahawks team that has played most of its games rather tight all season.  I realize that Seattle is a pretty good bet to run  the table at home this year, but this just feels like a trap game.  I've been a Jets loyalist all year for some reason, and I just can't quit now.

Last Week's Record:  1 - 4

Season Record: 25 - 20

Games That I Didn't Pick:

Giants (-4) vs. BENGALS

DOLPHINS (-6) vs. Titans

RAVENS (-7.5) vs. Raiders

Falcons (-2.5) vs. SAINTS

Cowboys (-2.5) vs. EAGLES

49ERS (-11.5) vs. Rams

BEARS (-1.5) vs. Texans

STEELERS (-12.5) vs. Chiefs
