Waukesha Teen Wins Artist of the Month Competition

Becca Richter released her first CD last month.

A Waukesha teenager who has been making headlines as a local singer/songwriter has won Artist of the Month through an online talent search, Teenage Rockstar, according to a news release.

Becca Richter, who has been profiled by and Waukesha Now, recently released her first album as well.

Becca began by placing as Artist of the Day several times and quickly climbed the charts. According to the AKG Teenage Rockstar newsletter, “The October decision for Artist of the Month competition was almost a wire to wire victory for Becca R. She has reached many Teenage Rockstar users with her great performances and won the YAMAHA Pacifika (electric guitar) with a record of 1053 votes.”

Becca will now be a contender for Artist of the Year, which would earn her a recording contract and a spot in the Teenage Rockstar Summer Camp in Austria.  To vote for Becca’s music, visit http://www.teenage-rockstar.net.

Becca recently released her first independent album, Little Things, and celebrated the accomplishment with a CD release event at Hartland Music on Oct. 20.  Becca is currently in the process of writing songs for her next two albums and a preview of her title track, Bigger Picture can be seen on http://www.BeccaRichter.com.
