Waukesha Native Stars on '42'

Brad Beyer takes the role of a Dodgers player in the newly released film "42".

Waukesha Native Brad Beyer is starring in the newly released biographical film of baseball player Jackie Robinson.

Beyer, a 39-year-old actor and Catholic Memorial High School graduate who has made appearances on Jerico, The Mentalist, CSI: New York, Lie to Me, Without a Trace and other shows, will plays Dodgers player Kirby Higbe.

42, released today in theaters, follows the story of Jackie Robinson, a baseball player from UCLA who broke baseball's color barrier in 1947 and became the first African-American baseball player in Major League Baseball.

Beyer is starring alongside Chadwick Boseman as Robinson, Harrison Ford as Branch Rickey, Christopher Meloni as Leo Durocher, John C. McGinleyas Red Barber, T. R. Knight as Harold Parrott, Lucas Black as Pee Wee Reese and Nicole Beharie as Rachel Isum.
