JAN. 2-11, 2012

London theatre has long been the destination to see great works produced onstage. Since the Elizabethan Period, London has been the epicenter for the performing arts. There is great merit to have students examine Shakespeare’s work where he wrote and presented them. “The Classics Meets the Cutting Edge”  is  led by Steve Decker, associate professor of theatre at UW Waukesha. Decker will enhance the experiences at the Royal Shakespeare Company and tours and workshops in Stratford-Upon-Avon and The Globe Theatre. In addition to a play at the Royal Shakespeare Company and one at the National Theater, the tour features current blockbuster musicals like Billy Elliot the standard London hits Blood Brothers and  The Woman in Black. The theatre-filled study abroad also includes backstage tours, hands-on workshops, and tours of London’s most famous sites and museums.
