Books for Troops

Martha Merrell's Books in downtown Waukesha invites to be part of its BOOKS FOR SOLDIERS campaign that begins this week.  Your first opportunity to "Buy a book, bring a book, give a book" is on Friday, November 4th, from 5 until 8:30 PM.  Come and chat with the authors supporting this worthy activity: Deb Baker (Hannah Reed); William Rapp (who else could write a better BERLIN WALL mystery than the man who was there when it came down?); Jerry Peterson, a real cowboy writer of the post-war West; and Allan Ansorge, author of the Bay Harbor Mysteries series.  They all will be present to sign copies of their books for soldiers as well as collect other books to send to the troops.  Help kick off the season of giving by remembering those who are far from home.  After all, none of us want soldiers having nothing to read during their tour of duty.  Martha Merrell’s is offering a 15% discount on any books purchased for the troops; NYT bestsellers receive their usual discount.  BOOKS FOR SOLDIERS begins this Friday at Martha Merrell's located at 231 Main St. in Waukesha , WI 53186.  That is the place to be on Nov. 4th from 5:00 until 8:30 along with the music of Friday Night Fever.  We will be collecting books to go with the Hartford National Guard unit when they are dispatched in February.  So, join our campaign to support the troops with new and gently used books!·
