Behind the Vaults: Treasures from the County Museum Collections

Museums are special. They are places to discover and learn. One of the most special ways that museums do this is by collecting, preserving, and exhibiting collections of materials that could be anything from letters to live plants. Each place and each museum tells its own unique story. Visit the Waukesha County Museum to see and learn about some of the stories that make Waukesha County great. See some of special things the museum houses in its collections like a cane used by the county’s first land owner, Morris Cutler, or a key from the premier spring’s era hotel, Fountain Spring House. Visitors will learn a bit about why museums collect and how they preserve these special objects for generations to come.
