2nd Annual Art for Life Exhibition

The second annual Art for Life Exhibition will be displayed at the Milwaukee Art Museum, 700 N. Art Museum Drive, Milwaukee, from Nov. 18-Dec. 14, 2011. An opening reception will be Saturday, Nov. 19, from noon to 1 p.m. The exhibit is in the Education Gallery between the museum and the north parking lot, and is free and open to the public.

The Art for Life exhibition features art created by art students, alumni and elders from Luther Manor during fall 2011. Art for Life is a project initiated by Pacia Sallomi, associate professor of art, to present older adults with creative outlets while providing students hands-on experience in art education and art therapy. The program also will provide art curriculum that caregivers can use for less mobile seniors. It is currently funded by a two-year, $15,000 grant from the Helen Bader Foundation.
