Danny Gokey's CD Release Party Being Held in Waukesha

Milwaukee native and recording artist Danny Gokey is releasing his second album soon, and his release party is happening in Waukesha.

The party is planned for Friday, June 27, at Fox River Christian Church. Tickets to the CD release party start at $10 for general admission.

The CD release party is also benefitting Exploit No More, a non-profit organization in southeastern Wisconsin that is working to help victims of sex trafficking.

Gokey’s single Hope in Front of Me is already on radio stations. The inspirational song seems to speak about his personal life. A church music director, Gokey placed third in the 2009 American Idol competition shortly after the death of his young wife, Sophia. He has since remarried to Leyicet Peralta and the couple has a son.

"I just look at what's in my heart," Gokey told Patch in 2013 when asked how he determines what challenge he should take on next. “I feed on the movement and the music, and what's in my heart. God is also a huge piece of what I do. I follow what he tells me to do — to have a vision, to plan. And, you know, nothing is impossible if you believe in God."
