County DA’s Band to be at Food Drive Celebration

Second annual "Battle of the Bars Food Drive" ends in party on Sunday

Bars throughout the county have held food drives to benefit the Food Pantry of Waukesha County this month and the bars are ending the second annual “Battle of the Bars Food Drive”  from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Nashotah Club House, N44W32998 Watertown Plank Road.

The Food Pantry of Waukesha County is based in Waukesha just off of Sunset Drive and serves on average 6,500 people each month, according to a news release from Karen Tredwell, executive director of the non-profit organization.

Mugshotz in Pewaukee, Stolley’s Hogg Alley, The Jewelry Mechanic, Todd’s Grill, Hollywood’s Roadhouse,, Delafield Legion, Yellow House Salon and Associated Bank in Okauchee participated in the food drive, Tredwell said in the release.

Tredwell said in the release she is grateful for the support of the area businesses, which ensure the food pantry will meet the needs of its clients.

“This is the time of the year when our shelves begin to look a little bare,” Tredwell said. “The donations from the holiday season have all been used and major food drives like Scouting for Food or the Letter Carriers Drive aren’t held until later in the spring.”

There is no admission to the food drive celebration at Nashotah Clubhouse but raffles will be held during the afternoon to help raise funds for the food pantry.
