Could You Be the Next Top Singer?

Waukesha County Fair is seeking top musicians in the county to participate in their music contest.

The Waukesha County Fair Association is seeking contestants for the second annual Waukesha County Fair Top Singer contest. Live finals will be held on Wednesday, July 18, opening night of the Waukesha County Fair, and the new Top Singer will win a cash prize and the opportunity to perform on the Waukesha County Fair’s Miller Lite Main Stage on Sunday, July 22, before country star Craig Morgan.

 How to Enter: The public will have the opportunity to enter videos to the Waukesha County Fair Contest App on its Facebook Fan Page. Contestants must be between the ages of 16 and 28. Submissions will be accepted at 9 a.m. Monday, June 4, through 11:59 p.m. Friday, June 29. Performances should be no longer than 60 seconds in length, sung a cappella (no music) and with no vulgarity, profanity or vulgar language, obscenity or inappropriate displays.

How to Vote in Prelims: Videos will go live for voting on the Fair Contest App on Tuesday, July 3 at 9 a.m. and remain open through 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, July 11. During that time, the public will have the opportunity to watch the videos and vote for a favorite. (One vote per Facebook account.) The finalists will be announced on the Waukesha County Fair website and Facebook App on Thursday, July 12 at 9 a.m. Finalists will move on to the live finals held on Wednesday, July 18 at 7:30 p.m. in the Leinie Lodge.

 The Finals:

Finalists will perform in random order for a panel of judges. Background music or an accompanist is allowed for this performance. (Finalists are responsible for providing their own accompaniment either in person or recorded.) The judges will determine one winner and a runner-up. The Top Singer winner will receive $250 in cash and have the opportunity to perform his or her winning song on the Miller Lite Main Stage Sunday, July 22, immediately before Craig Morgan performs at 6 p.m. First runner-up will also receive a cash prize and may perform in place of the Top Singer should he or she be unavailable.
