Waukesha County Residents To Sign Banner Thanking Navy SEALS

Banner signing at "Support Our Troops Day" at Waukesha County Historical Society and Museum added after troops killed Osama bin Laden.

The timing of the Waukesha County Historical Society and Museum’s “Support Our Troops Day” couldn’t have been planned any better. The event, which is scheduled for Saturday, will take on added meaning with the demise of international terrorist Osama bin Laden.

The museum will honor the Navy SEALS who killed bin Laden during Saturday’s event by having visitors sign a banner stating “Waukesha County Thanks You.” The banner will be shipped to the U.S.S. Carl Vinson, according to a news release from the museum.

Martin Street will be closed as the museum is displaying military vehicles. World War II dance numbers will be performed from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday. An outdoor kids camp will include face painting, clowns and children’s activities throughout the day, according to the release.
