Waukesha County Fair Schedules Livestock Auction

Individual and corporate buyers must register prior to the July 22 auction.

The Waukesha County Fair Association will host the annual County Executive & Fair Marshal’s Annual Junior Livestock Auction at 6 p.m. Friday, July 22, during the Waukesha County Fair, which runs from July 20 and July 24.

Individual and corporate buyers must register in the Livestock Tent before the start of the auction. Assistance will be available to learn the post-auction process. Otherwise, the Waukesha County Fair will handle the resale of the animal, with the buyer paying only the difference between the bid price and the actual market price.

The Livestock Auction is a culmination of a year’s worth of work by committed 4-H exhibitors, who prepare their steers, hogs, and sheep for showing and for sale. Proceeds from the auction go directly to the 4-H participants, many of whom direct the funds toward college expenses. This is an excellent opportunity to support 4-H and the potential future leaders of Waukesha County. This year’s Fair Marshal, Terry Foreman, will be recognized at the beginning of the auction for his involvement with the fair.

Foreman grew up in the Milwaukee area and worked as the small business agent for the University of Wisconsin-Extension in Waukesha County from 1980-85. At that time, the Waukesha County Fair was run out of the Extension Office and Terry had become the fair’s commercial coordinator.

It was through this position he began his long-term friendship and working relationship with Mike Williams, owner of Farrow Amusements, now known as North American Midway Entertainment, which continues to provide the Fair with exceptional midway rides, games and entertainment. Terry currently lives with his wife Linda in Pearl, Mississippi.
