Here is some information from Shari Black, the executive director of the Waukesha County Fair, about keeping cool this week:

Where can people find water to stay hydrated during the fair?

Bubblers are located in the Arena Marketplace and 4-H Forum. Bottled water is sold at almost every food vendor as well as the 4-H kitchen.

Will people be allowed to bring in water bottles?

Unfortunately, we don’t allow carry-ins to the fairgrounds.

Where are the best places to stay cool?

The air-conditioned Arena Marketplace and 4-H Forum are great places to cool off and see some great entertainment and 4-H projects. A misting tent will be located on the south end of the grounds by the First Aid tent. The two side-stage tents (Coors Light Stage and Leinie Lodge) will provide great coverage from the sun and give people a chance to sit down and enjoy some great music. Water Wars is back this year - a water balloon toss game sure to cool you off, located on the patio west of the 4-H Forum just outside the North Hall.

Where should people go if they are experiencing heat stroke while walking around the fair?

First Aid is located on the south end of the grounds between the Arena Marketplace and the Leinie Lodge in an air-conditioned trailer. Also, the 4-H Forum and Arena Marketplace would be a good place for someone to sit down if they don’t feel they can make it to first aid and we can get medical attention to them if needed. We always have sheriff deputies patrolling the grounds and can call for medical attention.
