Sometimes, It's Hard to Say Goodbye

Waukesha Patch editor Sarah Millard thanks Waukesha residents for everything they've done to grow Patch in the past few years.

Three years ago, I took a leap on a company called Patch. It’s been a wild ride – sometimes with laughter and smiles and sometimes with many, many tears. The journey has been amazing as I’ve been able to share so many wonderful stories after starting the Waukesha Patch website from the beginning. So many of you have been wonderful to me, sharing those stories and local news updates with your friends and family members.

Unfortunately, as many of you know, there’s been a transition period these last two months and Aol has made the decision to layoff the editors of the Milwaukee-area Patch websites. My last day is Oct. 15 with Waukesha Patch (and Wauwatosa, which I have been running on a limited basis for the past two months). I don’t know what is in store for me next, but I am looking forward to trying something new! But first, I am really just looking forward to graduating with my MBA in Internet marketing in mid-December and unpacking some boxes after my last move … which happened in March.

I just wanted to take the time to thank everyone for their support over the past three years. I never would have been able to do it without you sharing your tips, asking questions and just having a daily conversation about Waukesha.

And don’t hesitate to say hi when you see me around town. I’ll still be here checking out the local shops, events and school sporting events!
