The portion of the Fox River boardwalk behind the 400 block of West Main Street that was damaged last winter will soon be repaired by a local contractor, Burkhart Construction Corp., acording to a City of Waukesha news release.

"Due to the high amount of salt that is needed on the boardwalk in this area the boardwlakfailed over the winter and was clsoed to the public for the majority of the winter," the release states. "The repair will upgrade the design in this area to consider the high-salt usage."

The project will begin Monday and last through Friday. The boardwalk will be closed during the project, the release states.
