PHOTOS: Wings Over Waukesha Day 1

Airshow at Crites Field continues from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

What's going on at at the Complete with flips, spins, turns and daredevil pilots, continues from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Aerobatic performers will be there to wow the crowds, including  Jim "Fang" Maroney Super Chipmunk aerobatics, John Mohr Stearman barnstorming aerobatics, Dave Dacy-Tony Kazian wingwalking, and Dr Bill Blank Super Decathlon aerobatics, according to a news release.

The Yankee Air Museum in Detroit will be bringing its fully-restored World War II era B-25 “Mitchell” bomber and the Minneapolis U.S. Air Force Reserve will bring in a C-130 transport plane to participate in the show and remain on display, a news release states.

Dozens of other contemporary and vintage aircraft will participate in the daily air show at 1 p.m. each day. The Sky Knights Sport Parachute Club from East Troy will kick off the daily shows with a team of skydivers landing on the airfield. The shows will also include a tribute to Waukesha County members of the U.S. Armed Forces who have been lost in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, the release states.

  • Admission is $5 per person and children under age 12 are free.
  • Parking is $2 per vehicle
  • Rides in the B-25 “Mitchell” bomber are $400 a person. Rides can be purchased at the show or ahead of time at 517-404-1061.
  • Single-engine aircraft and helicopter rides are $40 per person.
  • Sponsors of Wings over Waukesha include Accurate Specialties, Inc. and StrateVantage Communications, LLC.
  • The airshow begins at 1 p.m. both days.
