PHOTOS: Relay for Life at Waukesha West High School

The relay for life got underway Friday with an emotional speech from Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch, who was diagnosed with cancer last fall.

As football players were running and racing on the practice fields at Waukesha West, another race was taking place on the track. The relay for life got underway with an emotional speech from Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch, who was diagnosed with cancer last fall.

Following the ceremony, which is lasted about 30 minutes, all cancer survivors in attendance at the Relay for Life took the first lap around the track at Waukesha West High School. Caregivers of anyone who was diagnosed with cancer were asked to join them for the second lap.
