'Lexi Legacy' Fundraiser Benefits Woman Injured in Accident That Killed Pet

Debbie Schultz, 54, of Waukesha, was injured when a hit-and-run driver collided with her and her service dog at North Barstow Street and West Broadway.

It’s been a month since Debbie Schultz, 54, of Waukesha, , killing her service dog at North Barstow Street and West Broadway.

Schultz still suffers from her broken foot, but she’s left without her companion, Lexi, who was a gift from her husband shortly before he was killed in a car accident. Her friends and family are throwing a benefit for Schultz on Sunday.

The event is being held from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. at . The drink and food proceeds will go toward the benefit. Music will be provided by Pete Llanas and Rick the DJ.

The suspect in the hit-and-run accident, was cited for a hit-and-run accident causing injury, failure to yield right-of-way while making a left-hand turn and operating a motor vehicle without insurance.  The case has also been forwarded to the Waukesha County District Attorney’s office for further review.
