The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department will be having a cookout on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The proceeds will benefit the 4-year-old son of a deputy who was diagnosed with Severe Aplastic Anemia, a rare bone marrow disease. The cost of the cookout is $5. Brats and burgers with all the sides will be sold at the drive-through cookout.

Tired of staring at cigarette butts and litter in the downtown area? A group of Waukesha residents are going to give the downtown area a fresh spring cleaning. The clean up event will be held from 9 a.m. to around noon Saturday with lunch to follow. The has more information.

Do you have a sweet design for a Waukesha BluesFest Poster? The deadline is May 1 for poster submissions, so if you want to be included in the contest, you better get your creative juices flowing.

Rules and guidelines for the Commemorative Poster Design Contest are available at a link on the home page of www.waukeshabluesfest.com.  Contact Lynn Gaffey, Waukesha BluesFest Art Show Chairperson at 262-893-2411 with any questions on the contest.  All entries must be received by the May 1 to be considered.  Winners will be chosen and notified by June 1

Open Enrollment Deadline Nearing

Do you want your child to attend a different school district? Maybe it’s because of the programs offered at a different school, you just moved or you work in another community. But whatever the reason is, the deadline to get the open enrollment application in is nearing. All applications must be received by 4 p.m. April 30. The application has to be received by that date – postmarks will not count.
