HAWS Holding Blood Drive Thursday

HAWS, the has partnered with the Blood Center of Wisconsin for a life-saving (human) blood drive from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the shelter at 701 Northview Road, Waukesha.

“This blood drive for humans honors this giving season, and also allows HAWS the chance to show support for the community that has been so supportive of us,” said HAWS’ Executive Director Lynn Olenik.  “We invite the public to join in the giving spirit and donate – you never know when you could give the gift of life to another pet owner or animal lover.”

As an added bonus, those who are giving can also receive. As part of a daily Blood Center drawing, any participants in HAWS’ drive are automatically registered to win an autographed football from Green Bay Packers wideout Jermichael Finley.

People able to give blood can register online at www.bcw.edu/HAWS, or call HAWS at 262-542-8851.  Walk-ins are welcome on Thursday; appointments are scheduled at 15-minute intervals.  Appointments are still available for all time slots.
