Furry Friends: Spike and Millie

Waukesha Patch spotlights a bearded dragon and St. Bernard mix that are available for adoption at Humane Animal Welfare Society.

This dragon isn’t fire breathing but its name is Spike.

Spike – the folks at Humane Animal Welfare Society have not been able to determine if Spike is a boy or a girl – was brought to the animal shelter on July 23 because Spike’s owners were unable to afford Spike.

The bearded dragon is fed a special diet of mealworms, veggies, crickets and calcium supplements.

Meanwhile, Millie is a 4-year-old St. Bernard mix who was brought to Humane Animal Welfare Society on June 27 as a stray.

Millie is small for a St. Bernard, weigh about 67 pounds. She can’t live with other dogs or cats and is good for families with children above age 10. The behaviorists at the animal shelter are working on teaching the dog some manners.
