Fairest of the Fair Contestants Announced

Winner will be announced on Wednesday when Waukesha County Fair begins.

The candidates for the Fairest of the Fair for next week’s Waukesha County Fair have been announced.

The candidates are Sarah Hovey, 19, of New Berlin, Samantha Scharles, 18, of Mukwonago, Ella Hopkins, 19, of Oconomowoc, and Erica Spielgelberg, 19, of New Berlin. The candidates’ biographies are included in their pictures that go with this article.

The Fairest of the Fair will selected at 6 p.m. Wednesday when the fair begins.

The candidates are judged on their knowledge of and experience with the Waukesha County Fair, personality, communication skills and community and school involvement, according to the Waukesha County Fair’s website.

The Fairest of the Fair will be the face of the fair and participate in parades, county functions and speak at community engagements, schools and clubs to promote the fair in the following year. The winner will receive a scholarship at the conclusion of her reign, the website states.
