Waukesha Reads Kickoff Weekend: Sept. 28 & 29

October is filled with Waukesha Reads events, most of which are free and all are open to the public. The events are based on themes from the Waukesha Reads 2012 book selection, 1984, by George Orwell. A complete Waukesha Reads Calendar of Events is available at the Waukesha Public Library’s Reference Desk, at participating downtown merchants or online at www.waukeshareads.org

The Waukesha Reads Kickoff weekend begins Friday, September 28, from 6:30 - 9:00 p.m., with an appearance at Freeman Friday Night Live. You can pick up copies of the book, 1984, and a Calendar of Events at our booth, located outside of Sloppy Joe's. New and gently used children’s books for the Hope Center Library may be dropped off at this location. You can also participate in building the 2084 City of the Future at the Waukesha Community Art Project, located at 820 North Grand Ave.
