Dreaming of a White Christmas?

Wondering if we get snow before Christmas in Waukesha? Me too!

I’m not complaining. I’m really, really not complaining. I’ve been enjoying these warmer days, especially since I know the deep cold is coming before I know it.

But is it too much to ask for a little snow before Christmas? You know, a winter wonderland and all that stuff?

The snowflakes fell much earlier last year. While there has been a few flakes that have fallen here, it has melted within seconds of hitting the ground. Other areas of the state and even Texas – yes, Texas – have had their snow already this year. But does our delayed snowfall mean our spring will be delayed?

It’s might a good thing, though, for Waukesha residents since the Common Council cut some salt supplies during this year’s budget process. The city hasn’t had to use much salt this winter, leaving more in reserves for the upcoming winter months.

But looking ahead, the National Weather Service’s forecast is predicting there will be flurries on Thursday. But it doesn’t look like we will get much for snow on Thursday. It’s not until Monday when the NWS is suggesting that we will receive a mix of rain and snow.

I admit, I’m disappointed. I was planning on taking some of my family to see at this weekend so we could see all the pretty Christmas lights. I was really hoping for snow to go with the lights display. Which leads me to ask:

With Christmas less than two weeks away, will we have snow?
