25th Annual ECFA Bike & Hike Taking Place on Saturday

The Evangelical Child and Family Agency is raising funds for their cause to aide individuals with unplanned pregnancies on Saturday with a walk on the Glacial Drumlin Trail.

The Evangelical Child & Family Agency, or ECFA, located in New Berlin, is going to be hosting their 25th Bike & Hike, supporting moms, dads and babies on Saturday at Bethesda Park in Waukesha.  

All pledges go to raise funds to continue in ECFA’s goal of what Linda Oberbrunner, WI District director, said is “to be available to women and men in unplanned pregnancies.”

Their two main programs are pregnancy support services and adoption.

Check in is between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. and a special T-shirt is provided for the event. Individuals can register for the walk online at www.ecfawisc.org or the day of at the park.

It is $20 for one person or $50 for a family. Participants will walk, run, bike or inline skate the beautiful Glacial Drumlin Trail. Oberbrunner said that you can go as far as you like on the trail. There is no minimum mileage commitment. She said that one year two people went all the way to Cottage Grove.

The event always takes place the Saturday after Mother’s Day and has had a great track record when it comes to weather.

Following the walk/bike/skate will be lunch provided by Cousin’s as well as music from K Love 105.3 radio. Prizes will also be given to many of the participants. The top prizes include a four-pack of Brewers box seat tickets, $50 restaurant gift certificate with four Country Springs Water Park passes and a $200 cash prize.
