Rehearsals for Ultimate Superstar Youth Musical Begin January 19 at Christ the King Church

Christ the King Lutheran Church in Delafield will hold rehearsals for the Ultimate Superstar youth musical for Christ the King member students and their area friends, grades 3-8, beginning Sunday, January 19.  Students are not required to audition.  The director will assign parts in the musical based on character requirements.  Rehearsals will run weekly on Sundays, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the church music room at 1600 N. Genesee St.

Ultimate Superstar is a 40-minute production staged as a dress rehearsal for a church talent show.  However, a misunderstanding leads the kids to think a big celebrity (the Ultimate Superstar) is coming to see the show.  As the players deal with issues of pride and being “good enough to perform for a superstar,” they come to find out more about who is the “Ultimate Superstar!”

Performances of Ultimate Superstar will take place on Saturday, March 15 and Sunday, March 16.  Art Jaehnke, Choir Director at Christ the King, will run rehearsals and direct the production.  Parents will be requested to provide additional supervision.

Parents who have children interested in participating should e-mail the child’s name and grade, along with the parent’s name and contact information, to Art Jaehnke at ajaehnke@ctkdelafield.org.

An ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church of America) church, Christ the King has nearly 1,000 parishioners and welcomes new members.  Worship services are held at 9 a.m. every Sunday.
