Flu and Pneumonia Vaccinations Available at ProHealth Care Clinics

There’s still time to become protected from illness with seasonal flu and pneumonia vaccinations available at ProHealth Care Medical Associates during designated hours, and on a walk-in basis.

There are four vaccination options available for protection against influenza this year. Intradermal flu vaccine is an option for adults age 18 – 64 who are anxious about needles. The vaccine is injected under the skin with a small, fine needle that is 90% smaller than needles used for regular flu shots.

Nasal flu mist is available for healthy adults under age 50, and is an alternative for those who prefer no needles.

High-dose flu vaccine can be given to those who are at least 65 years old. The higher dose stimulates a better immune response against the flu in older people, who may have weaker immune systems.

The quadrivalant vaccine is for children age 6 months to 3 years. It protects against four strains of influenza, rather than the usual three.

The cost for a flu shot, intradermal vaccine, flu mist or quadrivalant vaccine is $30, high-dose flu vaccine is $35 and a pneumonia shot is $75. Payment must be made at the time of vaccination to receive special flu clinic pricing. Cash, checks, credit cards payments and insurance plans are accepted. Flu and pneumonia vaccinations are also available on a walk-in basis at various ProHealth Care clinics and urgent care centers. However, a walk-in vaccination may take longer because it will be administered between previously scheduled appointments.
