DESCRIPTION:America Celebrates! Quilts of Joy and Remembrance is a nation
 ally touring exhibition of art quilts from American fiber artists\, and
 is a joyful\, diverse\, and sometimes touching look at how we see oursel
 ves as a nation. The exhibition\, curated by Judith Trager\, seeks to fi
 nd how we as ordinary people share the threads and traditions that tie A
 mericans together. Touching on holidays\, cultural\, and personal celebr
 ations\, the exhibition is a bright and colorful look at our cultural mo
 res and how we see ourselves through our traditions. The exhibition will
  also feature those traditions that Americans brought with them as immig
 rants- Diwali from India\, the Winter Solstice from Northern Europe\, an
 d Cinco de Mayo from Mexico. The artists in this exhibition are as diver
 se as the quilts themselves. The 57 artists come from every geographical
  region of the United States and represent many ethnic and cultural grou
 ps (and two are ex-patriot Americans living abroad). They have created a
  diverse assortment of designs commemorating occasions from personal to
 solemn. Each of these parts makes for a strong whole that is as diverse
 as the artists who contributed to the exhibition. This diversity emphasi
 zes the unity of America and the joy that such diversity brings.&nbsp\;
