Crossing Guard, Waukesha Co. Dept. of Health & Human Services Volunteers needed to assist pedestrians in crossing intersection at Moreland Boulevard and Riverview Avenue in Waukesha, across from the Courthouse. This is a short-term opportunity from September through mid-November. Great time to enjoy the outdoors and Wisconsin fall weather!

Three shifts to choose from: 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.; 11:30 a.m.  to 1 p.m., or 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Volunteers must have a crossing guard certification. We will provide all uniform or supplies necessary. Help us keep our walkers safe! 18 or over please, located in Waukesha.

Goodwill Sale at Boston Store Donation Attendant, Goodwill Industries of SE Wisconsin

We need volunteers to accept donations from customers who bring in their gently used clothing and household linens. Distribute one Boston Store discount coupon for every item donated. Two volunteers for each three- to four-hour shift. The sale is Sept. 12-29; hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays. Sign up early and choose your shift.  Minimum age is 13 years and older. Volunteers need to be friendly and polite. Some physical activity such as lifting bags and reaching/bending to place the donations in the receptacles. Six area Boston stores are participating, including Brookfield Square in Brookfield.

Park Maintenance Projects, Waukesha County Park System

The Waukesha County Park System has volunteer opportunities for groups and organizations. Past projects include wood chipping trails, invasive species removal, painting picnic tables or trail markers, litter pick ups, etc. We prefer weekday availability between 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but are willing to try and accommodate groups on weekends and evenings as well. We can accommodate groups from two up to 100 people and can find a project that meets the needs of your group. All training and orientation is provided by park staff.  All Parks located in Waukesha County

Ambassador/Greeter, Aurora Medical Center in Summit
Serve as an ambassador/greeter for patients and visitors as they enter our hospital and clinic. Greet and escort patients and visitors, assist with wheelchairs and patient transport, deliver flowers and newspapers, arrange for transportation, and answers questions. Volunteers are needed Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Must be a minimum of 16 years old, complete application process which includes a TB skin test and background check. Need to be able to stand (with short breaks) for the duration of their shift (shifts vary between three and four hours) and physically be able to push patients in wheelchairs.  Located in Oconomowoc.
