As a Waukesha grandmother of many, I have been practicing to be the best ever grandma for twenty years. But this year, I’m determined to produce a ‘Major Award’ Christmas or go down whimpering. My Houston, Texas, family is coming to Waukesha to celebrate the holidays. Yeah! But the grandkids (ages 5 to 10) have NO clue about snow or Wisconsin Christmases...so I’m going all out. I’ve already started to Ho, Ho, Ho the house, beginning with the Christmas Trees – we’re putting up three! I have NEVER started this early or EVER put up three trees. I might be going OTT (over the top) but hey, it’ll be fun, I hope.
So, we put the first tree up this weekend and Grandpa went into hiding in the garage when I rearranged the furniture for that one very small tree. Somehow I have ended up with leftover chairs and tables. How does that happen? It’s a small tree. Maybe Grandpa would like the furniture in the garage - he could make a man cave out there. Is it too early for eggnog?
