Woman Strips at Walmart After Accused of Shoplifting, Police Say

Waukesha woman, 40, charged with two misdemeanors after bizarre encounter with store staff.

A 40-year-old Waukesha woman began to strip at Walmart in front of customers when she was accused of shoplifting Friday evening, according to a criminal complaint.

Susanna C. Bingen was charged Monday with obstructing an officer and disorderly conduct – with a repeat offender penalty enhancer due to past convictions. If convicted of the misdemeanor charges, she faces up to four years in jail and $11,000 in fines.

According to the criminal complaint:

Waukesha police were called to the store at 6:07 p.m. Friday for a report that Bingen was yelling, screaming, trying to strike a security officer and taking off her clothes. When police arrived, they noted she was staggering and losing her balance.

Store employees told police Bingen caused a disturbance near the fitting room when she took a flavored water and started drinking it. When she was confronted, she said she would pay for it at the register. She walked to the cash register and didn’t pay for the drink, the employee said. Instead, Bingen went into the restroom for 45 minutes and then exited without her purse.

When store employees again confronted Bingen, they told police, she said “I’ll show you” and began taking her shirt and pants off in front of customers and other employees.

A Waukesha police officer on scene asked for Bingen’s identification, so she sat down on the floor to dig through her bag and purse while yelling at the store employees. The officer told her to stop yelling.

The woman couldn’t find her identification, so the police officer looked in the bag. The officer reported finding two half-empty bottles of wine and two full bottles of wine in the bag. At that point, Bingen began to reach for the bag to pull it away from the officer, so the police officer told her to relax and calm down.

The police officer reported Bingen tried to grab his name tag off his uniform, so he told her she was under arrest. She tried to walk away from him to avoid being handcuffed, but two police officers were able to take her into custody.

Hot!!!!!

I may not say this enough, but Walkersha is really in a golden era. An intoxicated stripper at Wal-Mart, hordes of junkies roving the streets and breaking into homes, at least one armed robbery per week, houses for sale getting the copper ripped out of them at breakneck speeds and our crown jewel in the downtown is a foreclosed hotel. Good job guys, we seem to be on the right track!

I'm glad I wasn't there. I would have had to poke my own eyes out. What an ugly sight that had to be.

That is someone's mom daughter sister and friend you are talking about, no one asks to be like that. She obviously has some health issues. Please judge yourself befor being so quick to judge others!

Why does everyone always have to jump to "health problems" This is why there are so many quacks on the road... we blame it on "mental health" and let them get away with this!! Unreal..

Quit kidding yourselves. She isn't going to get any treatment. If Social Services hasn't stepped in for any kind of treatment by now, they won't. ......why has she so many other misdemeanors and convictions on her record and no help at those times. Even if she had treatment and they put her on meds, do you think she will stay on them? Stay away from alcohol? Drugs? Nope. Complete waste of space. Only useful for entertainment value.

I have known her for over 20 years. She has lost everything due to personal problems She needs the right kind of treatment. The person I knew was very loving and kind. She loved her family more than anything. However, she lost control of her life. The one thing I take away from this ( as should everyone reading this ) is that if it can happen to her, it can happen to anyone. So don't judge. Hope that she gets the right treatment this time so she can someday reunite with her children and be a great mother and that wonderful caring person so many people love and miss.

Laurie - I have too have known her for a very long time and it saddens me to see what has happened to her - she needs to take ownership of her problem and I just don't see that happening.
