Woman Accused of Stealing Jewelry From Waukesha Home
Suspect stole nearly $10,000 in items so she could repay a drug dealer who was threatening her, according to criminal complaint.
A 20-year-old Waukesha woman is facing charges after she stole thousands of dollars in jewelry from a family friend so she could pay off her drug dealer.
Briana N. Goderich was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court on Friday with one count of theft of more than $2,500 in goods. If convicted, she faces up to 3 ½ years in prison and $10,000 in fines.
According to the criminal complaint:
On Nov. 5, Waukesha police officers were called to a residence in the 2000 block of Jefferson Avenue after a woman reported a family friend had stolen her jewelry. She said she found multiple items missing from her jewelry box, which were valued on $7,000.
Goderich was confronted about the theft and she admitted to the theft, saying a drug dealer she owes money to had threatened her, so she and a friend planned the theft.
During the course of the investigation, the victim discovered at least another $2,600 in jewelry was missing from the residence.
Goderich is currently out of custody and a warrant has been issued for her arrest.
