Who Has Open Enrollment Seats in Nearby Districts?

Find information on open enrolling your child in the following districts: Waukesha, Wauwatosa, Elmbrook, Hamilton, Menomonee Falls, Muskego-Norway and New Berlin.

Looking to open enroll your child in a school district other than the one in which you live for the 2013-14 school year? There is not a lot of space available in districts among the western suburbs.

A few school districts in Waukesha County are not opening enrollment seats for the 2012-13 school year. Elmbrook, Hamilton and New Berlin will not have any open enrollment seats.

Other districts only have seats open at the elementary level, such as Menomonee Falls and Muskego-Norway.

Waukesha School District's enrollment projections are difficult to determine at this time, however, Executive Director of Student Services Jennifer Wimmer is encouraging applications.

"With eAchieve Academy, a district online school, the School District of Waukesha has a unique opportunity to have no cap on potential seats for Open Enrollment in grades 6-12," Wimmer said in an email. "The district welcomes students from surrounding communities and will continue to open seats as they become available through monitoring of class size."

Just over the border in Milwaukee County, Wauwatosa will not set a number of open enrollment seats until the registration window closes.

"In December the Wauwatosa School Board approved open enrollment space will be determined based on class size," said Therese Kwiatkowski, director of student services. "Actual space available will not be determined until after the application period closes."

Below are open enrollment seats in seven area school district:

I do find it rather disappointing that the school where the picture is taken isn't mentioned once in this entire story, including the cutline of the picture itself.

If you are looking for a great education for your child in a safe, no bullying school, I strongly recommend St. Joe's in Big Bend, Wisconsin. They currently have open enrollment available now. We send our kids there and don't have to worry about bullying plus the education they receive is outstanding with the staff second to none. Check out www.stjoesbb.com
