Waukesha South Wrestler Wins Individual State Title

Bill Prochniewski won a title in 113-pound weight division at the Kohl Center in Madison.

 

Waukesha South senior Bill Prochniewski was crowned a state champion Saturday at the WIAA Individual State Wrestling Tournament in Madison.

Prochniewski won over La Crosse Central's Ben Thornton in the 113-pound final to finish the season with a 47-2 record.

Earlier in the state tournament, he had defeated Henry Prange of Bay Port 13-3, then pinned Jerrott Holz of Menomonee Falls. In the semifinals he scored an 8-6 decision over Colin Kraus of Stoughton.
