Mayor’s Controversial Book Purchase Went to Campaign Contributor
Waukesha Mayor Jeff Scrima said he did not anticipate the religious concerns when he asked the department heads to read and discuss book.
A book circulating around City Hall that raised concerns among city department heads because of a religious code used to interpret it was purchased from a publisher who contributed to Mayor Jeff Scrima's campaign.
The publisher, Gary Lato, contributed to the mayor’s campaign in 2010, according to a story in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
“Mr. Lato is a retired successful business man,” Scrima told Waukesha Patch. “He did introduce the book to me.”
Scrima said he purchased the book, Sequencing - Deciphering Your Company’s DNA, written by Michael Metzger, directly from Lato instead of Amazon because it was cheaper. The books would have cost nearly $540 from Amazon and, instead, Scrima said he purchased the books for nearly $430.
It is not uncommon for corporations the size of Waukesha to require its leaders to read “business and process improvement books,” Scrima said.
Scrima described the book as a “cutting-edge business book,” but did not specify why he chose the book as opposed to other books.
Scrima said he did not anticipate concerns being brought forward when he presented the book to the department heads a few weeks ago.
“There is nothing out of the ordinary here,” he said.

So what's the story other than more Scrima bashing? He's working to save the city $1.5 million dollars in lost state aid. Good for us, good for him. Keep up the good work mayor!

Still no evidence from the book itself of religion.
Definition of “chaplain” 1. a member of the clergy or other person in religious orders. 2. a person who says the prayer for an organization.
City of Waukesha Police Chaplain Robin Knoll is the President of “Inspiration Ministries” with a distinctly “Christian” Statement of Faith. See the following:

These are the exact same comments made on JSonline from askwhy. Who is thought to be the mayor himself. Why would the mayor purchase these books with tax dollars when we are in such a short fall? Maybe the mayor should be paying out of his own pocket for required reading rather than lining the pockets from a political contributor. Maybe the mayor should be spending more time leading rather than trying to defend his actions on all of these websites under secret names...........

1. This is all George Bush's fault.
2. I want to see Obama's birth certificate.
3. I want to see this mayor's birth certificate.
