Waukesha Man Charged in Marijuana Delivery Scheme
Waukesha man is busted picking up a package of marijuana mailed to a Muskego home.
A 47-year-old Waukesha man is facing felony drug charges after he allegedly picked up packages of marijuana mailed to a Muskego home, then sold the drugs to other people as part of an ongoing scheme.
Michael C. Hosking was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Wednesday with one count of possession with intent to deliver more than 200 grams of THC, the active ingredient in marijuana, one count of possession of THC and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. If convicted, he faces up to 6 ½ years in prison and $11,500 in fines.
According to the criminal complaint:
In fall 2011, investigators with the Waukesha County Metro Drug Unit were tipped off that a couple living in the W15000 block of Cornell Circle were receiving packages of marijuana at their home and then selling the drugs. Officers contacted the U.S. Postal Service and the Milwaukee High Intensity Drug Trafficking Agency, which alerted investigators to a suspicious package going to the home on Feb. 1, which had two pounds of marijuana inside.
The postal inspector delivered the package to the home and as soon as a woman living there took it, detectives arrived at the door.
The woman told officers her husband was in California, but he gets the packages mailed to him, then uses some for himself, sells some, then gives the rest to Hosking. She arranged for Hosking to come get the package the next day and after he left he was pulled over by police officers.
Hosking was on the phone when he got pulled over and immediately told the person he was talking to “I’m in trouble,” before hanging up.
Hosking told officers he regularly picked up the packages from the Muskego man, but distributed the drugs to whomever he said they should go. He told investigators the Waukesha Police Department had searched his home before and never found drugs, however, they searched again and found more marijuana and some paraphernalia.
Hosking will make his initial appearance in court Aug. 13.
