Waukesha Man Charged After Getting Hit by a Car

Suspect left the scene of an accident where he was hit while riding a motorcycle, criminal complaint states.

A 46-year-old Waukesha man is facing charges after he got hit by a car while riding his motorcycle and then left the scene of the accident, according to a criminal complaint filed in

According to the criminal complaint:

On Sept. 7, Bernard F. Szabrowicz pulled in front of a vehicle on East Sunset Drive and then decided to do a U-turn, causing the driver of the car to hit him.

Szabrowicz, who appeared intoxicated to witnesses at the scene, became upset after someone called 911 to get help, saying he didn’t need police there. He then got back on the motorcycle and left the scene.

After police found Szabrowicz, he told them he left the scene because the damage to his bike was “nothing he couldn’t take care of.”

Szabrowicz is charged with one count of hit and run, which carries a maximum sentence of six months in prison and $1,000 in fines if convicted.
