Waukesha Man Accused of Sexual Assault of Young Girl
Suspect, 17, admits to assaulting 9-year-old while babysitting her in 2008, according to criminal complaint.
A 17-year-old Town of Waukesha man is facing charges alleging he sexually assaulted a young girl while babysitting her four years ago.
Michael R. Lufter was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Monday with one count of first-degree sexual assault of a child. If convicted, he faces up to 60 years in prison.
According to the criminal complaint:
The victim contacted police in December to report she had been sexually assaulted in 2008 by Lufter when she was 9 years old. She said Lufter began to touch her and then eventually exposed his genitals.
The victim’s mother told police she stopped letting Lufter babysit the child after she saw him rubbing her back and the victim appeared uncomfortable.
Lufter admitted to touching the girl, saying he knew police would eventually get involved.
He will make his initial appearance in court June 11.
