Waukesha Man Accused of Sexual Assault of Boy, 13

Suspect is caught with the boy when a woman is walking her dog and sees the two, according to a criminal complaint.

A 21-year-old Waukesha man is facing charges after he posed as a teenager on a social media website so he could meet up for a sexual rendezvous with a 13-year-old boy at a Hales Corners park, according to a criminal complaint.

Daniel R. Schmidt was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court on Tuesday with one count of second-degree sexual assault of a child. If convicted, he faces up to 40 years in prison and $100,000 in fines.

According to the criminal complaint:

Schmidt met the victim on a website called skout.com, where he posed as a 16-year-old in order to gain access to the younger age group where he met the 13-year-old. The teen sent pictures of his naked genitals to Schmidt and the two eventually arranged to meet.

On Saturday, Schmidt picked the victim up in Muskego then drove to Hales Corners Park where they went to a secluded area and began to perform sexual acts. The two were spotted by a woman walking her dog, who then called police.

Police officers confronted the two about the incident as they were leaving the secluded area of the park.

Schmidt is currently being held in Milwaukee County Jail on $5,000 bond while awaiting trial.

It is not "having sex". It is sexual assault.

This is not right, that is more than obvious. However. The article does say that the 13 year old sent pics of his genitals to the 21 year old. If that's true, the kid is not entirely innocent. What I want to know is where on earth were the 13 year old's parents? Why did he have unrestricted access to a computer and or a cellphone with interenet capabilities?!
